Mountain OASIS Folk Band scores again

On Thursday, May 8, instrumentalists from the various OASIS music classes presented a wonderful concert of folk classics, traditional gospel and old time tunes to the Lunch Bunch. Twenty-two musicians played guitar, fiddle, autoharp, dulcimer, dobro, flute, penny whistle and harmonica. Hot lunches were catered by Cook's Country Kitchen and served by our dedicated kitchen volunteers.

OASIS (Older Adults Sharing In Service) is a community outreach program sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Union County. The last session of our spring term next Thursday will showcase many of our students' projects and talents in numerous learning experiences.

The public is invited to a special display of instructors' works on May 22 from 2pm until 5pm. Come view examples of the many different classes taught by our OASIS volunteer instructors.
