Willie Mae Richardson

Mrs. Willie Mae Richardson, 90, of Burnette Rd., Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Marietta, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Richardson was born May 19, 1917 in Fannin County, Ga., the daughter of the late Ed Turner and the late Dessie Seabolt Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Richardson in 1985 and also by her first husband, J.D.Blackman in 1970; brother, Bob Turner and a son-in-law, Eugene Burnette. Mrs. Richarson was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Marietta.

Surviving Mrs. Richardson are daughter, Wanda Burnette of Blairsville; sons and daughters-inlaw, Dewie and Eline Blackman of Temple, Ga.,Vinson and Linda Blackman of Paulding Co., Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Loy Wofford of Acworth, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Turner,

Thelma Turner and Jaunita Turner; grandchildren, Vickie Swafford, Sandra Cook, Scott, Keith, Danny and Jimmy Blackman and Cheryl Lynne Alford; fourteen great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chad Underwood officiating. Special music was presented by Becky Rogers and Dana Nelson. Pallbearers were Scott Blackman, Steve Turner, Kelvin Blackman, Steve Turner, Gary Wallace. Interment and graveside services followed Thursday at 12 p.m. from the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Marietta.
