Evelyn Carol Carmean

Mrs. Evelyn Carol Carmean, 53, of High Meadows Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Missions Hospital in Asheville following a brief illness.

Mrs. Carmean was born Sept. 6, 1954 in Flint, Mich., the daughter of Dillard Owenby and Rosa Lee Nix Owenby. She was preceded in death by brother, Larry Owenby. Mrs. Carmean attended Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Carmean is her loving husband of 28 years, Carl Carmean of Blairsville; children, Carl and Tabatha Carmean of Henderson, Tenn., Carla and Herman Walters of Flint, Christy and Tracy Owenby, Casey and Ashleigh Carmean, Chrisandra and Nick Harrington, Carrie Carmean and Chad Carmean, all of Henderson, Tenn.; sister and brother in-law, Debbie and Danny

Slater of Millington, Mich.; brother, Rick Owenby of Flint; grandchildren, Craig, Brandon, Kelsey, Noah and Caleb Carmean, Jessica and Justin Walters, Nichole and Damian Blackwell, Lucas and T.J. Harrington; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Special music was presented by Tommy Holbrooks. Pallbearers were Nick McGahey, Tracy Blackwell, Basil Ford, Craig and Brandon Carmean, Lucas Harrington and Justin Walters. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
