Thelma Mae Mitchell Beavers

Mrs. Thelma Mae Mitchell Beavers, 77, of Piedmont, Ala., formerly of the Atlanta area, died Friday, April 25, 2008.

Mrs. Beavers was born in Union County, Ga., on Thursday, July 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Clarence Mitchell and Mae Young Mitchell. She was a registered nurse and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Blairsville. Mrs. Beavers' husband, Tasker William Beavers, died in 2002.

Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Don and Laverne Beavers of Piedmont; daughter and son-inlaw, Brenda and Clifford Dykman, of Ocala, Fla.; daughters, Linda Mitchell of Piedmont, Sherry and Jeremiah Tarle of Roaring Springs, Texas; and daughter, Tracie Harris of Roaring Springs; sisters, Frankie Mae Phillips of Union City, Ga., and Janie Folsom of Tampa, Fla.; brothers: Franklin

Mitchell, of Carrollton, Ga., and James Mitchell of Villa Rica, Ga.; grandchildren: Tonya Lan of Hiram, Ga., and Eric Beavers of Centre, Ala.; great grandchildren, Aaron, Jason and Robert Deas; Krystal Sanders, Ashlyn Beavers and Monique Beavers.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 28, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Clayton and Rev. Brent Chatham officiating. Special music was presented by Mrs. Laverne Beavers, Mrs. Beavers' daughter-in-law. Pallbearers were Aaron Deas, Robert Deas, Jason Deas, Eric Beavers, Jeremiah Tagle and Buddy Hedgecock. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville.
