Renate Sophie Fording

Mrs. Renate Sophie Fording, 73, of Fairview Ave., Blairsville, Ga., died Sunday, April 13, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Fording was born Dec. 1, 1934 in Germany, the daughter of the late Hedwig Knocche Reichhold. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry William Fording and a grandson, David Brannon. Mrs. Fording was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church of Blairsville.

Surviving Mrs. Fording is her daughter, Elizabeth Rivera of Port St.Lucie, Fla.; sons and daughterin law, Ken and Sharon Brannon of Williston, Fla., Steve Brannon of Archer, Fla.; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Adrian, Rachel, Matthew and Jeffery; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family request that memorials may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church or to the Humane Society in memory of Mrs. Fording.
