Maureen Hellums Chase

Mrs. Maureen Hellums Chase, 78, of Wesley Mtn. Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Chase was born Feb. 18, 1930 in Tishamingo County, Miss., the daughter of the late Luther Finnie Hellums and the late Lillian M. Pennington Hellums. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bruckner Chase Sr. in 2003. Mrs. Chase was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Mrs. Chase are daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Max Younger of Memphis, Tenn., Sherry and Terry Doan of Young Harris; step daughter, Weezie Taylor of Mobile, Ala.; stepdaughter-in-law, Barbara Ruth

Chase of Memphis; sisters, Shirley Rorie of Hernando, Miss., Barbara O'Neal of Memphis; brother, Paul Hellums of Memphis; grandchildren, Leslie Jones, Evan Callie, Jessica Doan, Bruckner Chase, Babs Chase, Pamela Grafton and Tammy Padilla; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will
