Announcing Bark in the Park for Humane Society
2008 Bark in the Park, Humane Society Mountain Shelter, Saturday-May 3, 2008 from 10-2 At the Union County Dog Park, Behind North Georgia Technical College and the UC Senior Center, Registration opens at 9:00 am

Come and join us as we celebrate our Mountain Dogs! The day will be full of fun and adventure for all.

Pup Strut, Junior Joggers for Canines, and the Senior Stroll (Entry Donation of $10.00); Annual Blessing of the Animals (Free) and the Fun Dog Show! This years classes will include- Owner Look Alike Be Costume, Most Original, Funniest, Heavy Weight, Light Weight, Smallest, Best Trick, Most Obedient, Frisbee Fetch, Junior Handler and many more! Donation of $5.00 per class.

Our community is blessed with many agencies and partners working hard to provide care for the animals. This year's visitors will include: The local veterinary community, groomers, and pet supply retailers. Also on-hand will be tremendous showcase of animals available for adoption by: Human Society, North Georgia SPCA, Castaway Critters, Whiskers Project, Union County Animal Control, Operation Pup, Valley River Humane Society, Blue Ridge Humane Society, and Hiawassee Valley River Kennel Club. Come learn about and support these agencies and what they are doing yo fight the animal overpopulation crisis in your community.

New Events this year: Remembering Old Friends Memorial Booth and Dedication Service (Please bring photos of your beloved friends to be placed on display at the booth.) Pet photo contestbring your favorite photo(s) and enter to win special prizes ($2.00 each entry)

"For the love of animals" Essay and/or Poster Contest- Free to anyone who would like to enter- Tell us in 100 words or less or design a poster to show how animals have made dramatic impact on your life!

Veterinarian of the Year Nominations- please be sure to stop by any of the rescue and shelter booths for a nomination form.

Drug and Protection Dogs, AKC Obedience and Agility Courses, and Canine Good Citizen demonstrations, and Microchip Clinic.

Mix and mingle with other animal lovers JUST LIKE YOU!
