Pearson announces re-election campaign

Chip Pearson
State Senator Chip Pearson (RDawsonville) announced today that he will seek re-election to Georgia's 51st Senate District in 2008.

"It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve the people of north Georgia in the State Senate," said Sen. Pearson.

Continued Pearson, "In just a short period of time I have been able to

move up into key leadership positions and promote the conservative values we all cherish. I am most proud this year of my efforts to help expand water reservoirs across Georgia and provide for the long term Aeronautical Systems Company. My work in the airplane business involved assignments in master scheduling, public relations, and my last 10 years before retirement, I served as special assistant to the company president.

I served in the U.S. Air Force and I strongly support the many citizens who have been willing to serve in military or non-military capacities to serve our Great Country.

Following retirement from Lockheed, my wife and I moved to our home in the mountains, where I grew up. We have one son, a graduate of North Georgia College and Southwestern Seminary. He and his wife serve as missionaries in the West Indies.

In state government, I am especially concerned about unfunded mandates on local property owners, local government and school boards. Also, I am concerned with the inaction of the U.S. Congress on illegal immigration, and I will continue to be against an interstate highway (I-3) ever being built through our beautiful North Georgia Mountains.
