Wildflower Walk at Vogel State Park Wildflower enthusiasts are invited to participate in Vogel State Park's Annual Spring Wildflower Walk on Saturday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. Despite last year's drought, the beauties of the forest floor are peaking through the leaf litter in search of warm sunshine. Dwarf crested iris, cinquefoil star grass, bluets, Indian pipes and pink lady slipper are just a few of the flowers that may be found. Scott Lacey, a very talented naturalist will lead walk. The environment around Vogel provides the perfect opportunity to capture many varieties on film. This walk is a great way to renew your faith in the wonders of nature. The charge for the program is $3.00 per participant. There is an additional $3.00 Park Pass for each vehicle as well. Vogel State Park, operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, is located 11 miles south of Blairsville on U.S. Highway 129/19. For more information call the park at 706-745-2628. |
