Republican Party Ninth District Brad Scott Personal review of our individual values leads us to our personal selection of the right public office candidates and good elected officials. Some propose that there is a way to argue with a potential voter and somehow blindly convince them to be a Democrat. Others state negative points on historical Republican figures and believe a person now should vote for every Democratic candidate both local and national. Many feel that simply tearing down a Republican builds up a case to support every person that has chosen to run on a Democratic ticket. Most voters, however, recognize that as typical Democrat scare tactics. One of characteristics of Republicans is individual decision making and individual responsibility rather than dependence on government. Republicans often use a rallying cry of supporting "less government". This simply means more individual control, individual decisions, individual judgment, less emotional mob control, less decision making by some government group, and less blind reliance on the judgment of special interest group leaders. How do we really decide on a specific candidate or a political party that we want to support? Do we listen to the best smooth talker with very little detail, no clear path, and bread with sweet butter, but no meat? Why would an informed voter chose a President with little life experience, a stated goal of higher taxes, and a foreign policy that will start with ignoring lives lost, and a surrender with the idea to bail out of Iraq? Informed voters want meaningful experience, straightforward talk, and an honorable President with the ability to say they have always been proud to say and hear God Bless America. If you look at Clinton and Obama in real terms, all is not rosy with the Democratic candidates. Those of us more to the center look at political candidates that share our family values, our sense of working hard to benefit our families, keeping taxes sensible and watching where the government spends our money. We want only enough government involvement in our lives so that order is maintained, and the freedom we enjoy is continued. The Democratic Party proclaims it is the only champion of minorities in the US. We must remember that the Republicans were the Party of Abraham Lincoln and that Republican President Dwight Eisenhower's administration first drafted the Civil Rights Act that was finally passed in spite of the strong objections of Southern Democrat Congressmen and Governors. While Republicans do not propose to have all the answers, we will work toward the path that will lead us to continuing the better times that we all want. John McCain is the best person to lead the United States at this time based on the current issues of lower taxes, economic stimulation, and for the good of not only all our citizens, but in the best interest of world peace and security. The Republican Party welcomes all, and you may be interested in reviewing our webpage at gagop9.org.
