Forest conservation group sponsors photo contest

Got some neat outdoorsy pix in your camera? Georgia ForestWatch is sponsoring a photo contest and encourages the public to submit images of the great wild outdoors found on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. (Only photos taken within Georgia's national forests are acceptable for entry.)

Don't tarry! The deadline for submission is June 1, 2008. Details are available at: http://www.gafw.org/

Georgia ForestWatch is the the premier forest conservation group in Georgia, focusing on protecting our 865,000 acres of national forests. We are particularly interested in photographs of people engaged in appropriate recreation on these forests as well as a mix of nature, landscape and heritage-related photos. Photographers whose work is chosen will receive appropriate recognition and wide exposure of their work in a calendar/daybook we are producing.

The contest is being judged by Honor Woodard of Lakemont Georgia, an artist and former picture editor for Outdoor Explorer, Backpacker and Sports Illustrated magazines.

For more information, please refer to the website above first. Refer any remaining questions to our office at 706-635-8733 and ask for Lori.
