National Day of Prayer

The Union County celebration of the National Day of Prayer will be held at 7 p.m., May 1 in the Jury Assembly Room, downstairs in the Union County Courthouse.

The theme for this year's observance is "Prayer, America's Strength and Shield", and is based on Psalms 28:7 which states: "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped."

The National Day of Prayer is held annually on the first Thursday in May. This is an opportunity for all Americans to join in united prayer to acknowledge our dependence on God, offer thanks for His blessing, and to ask for God's guidance.

The public is cordially invited to join in this celebration of our freedom to gather, worship and pray. The meeting room is on the lower level and parking is available in the rear of the Courthouse for easy access.
