Smokey Bear at Meeks Park

Smokey the Bear will be joined by clowns and face painters at Meeks Park on Saturday morning, April 26 for the Start of Stage 6 of the Tour de Georgia. There will be a lot of activities for children including an opportunity for autographs beginning at 9:50 a.m. near the stage area. Racers will check in and head towards autograph alley where spectators can meet world class cyclists from all over the world.

To tie in to the Tour's main focus, preventing and curing cancer, an Expo travels with the Tour with exhibits and displays for healthy living. Local vendors who will be on site in the Expo area will be the Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce, Union County branch of the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity and Keep Our Mountains Beautiful. Also with a live radio remote will be local radio station WNGM AM 1230.
