Hollywood coming to Hiawassee
Actress/singerwriter/director Judy Norton is coming to direct The Little Mermaid in Hiawassee's first Children's Performing Arts Camp this summer.

Most well known for her part as Mary Ellen on the Emmy award winning series The Waltons, Judy has also appeared on Stargate, Higher Ground, Millenium and had a recurring role on Beggars and Choosers. Her stage credits include starring in Cinderella and Annie Get Your Gun, among many others.

Other credits include helping to write and direct more than 40 shows for theaters in Canada , and as a singer performing from North America to Europe, Iceland and Malaysia.

Judy is excited to share her knowledge and experience with our children.

The camp lasts two weeks and will be held June 16-20 and June 23-27 with the play being held on Saturday, June 28.

Cathy Weekley, Music Director of 20 years, and Robbie Dernehl, actress, Children's Director, are organizing the camp.

Auditions and sign up will take place on Saturday, April 21 at the Towns County Rec. Dept from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
