Ruth Short VanEtten

Mrs. Ruth Short VanEtten, 87, of Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, March 31, 2008.

Mrs. VanEtten was born in Mercer County, W. Va., Wednesday, January 19, 1921, a daughter of the late Charles Ross Short and Pearl Belcher Short. Mrs. VanEtten was employed by a large department store most of her life.

Mrs. VanEtten moved to Blairsville in 1984 from Winder, Ga. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brink VanEtten, III, and a son, David B. VanEtten. Blairsville family members include Randy Haines, Charles

Lawson, Eleanor Haines, and

Don Haines. Several nieces

and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel with Rev. Earl Bishop officiating.
