One lucky winner to receive VIP treatment at Tour de Georgia

The Local Organizing Committee for Stage 6 of the upcoming Tour de Georgia presented by AT&T is offering a chance for someone to receive "VIP Treatment" at the race. The Tour de Georgia, a professional bicycling event, will include both Towns and Union Counties on the 6th day of this year's race. This Stage begins at Meeks Park in Blairsville on Saturday morning, April 26 and concludes that afternoon atop Brasstown Bald in Towns County. Teams will leave Meeks Park at approximately 11 a.m. and the first rider should cross the finish line at the top of Brasstown Bald at approximately 2:30 p.m.

This 88.4 mile long leg of the race has become the signature climb of the entire Tour de Georgia, receiving rave reviews from both competitors and spectators. The LOC Committee is selling chances for one lucky person to enjoy the start in Blairsville from the "invitation only" hospitality area; a parking pass for admittance to the VIP Section on Brasstown Bald; a ticket to enjoy the sold-out hospitality area atop the Bald (with a bird's eye view of the finish line), and, the opportunity to present the award to the 2nd place winner of Stage 6. Tickets for this contest are $10 each and can be purchased at either the Towns County Chamber office located on Jack Dayton Circle (across from The Ridges Resort) or at the Union County Chamber office located on Hwy. 515 (just south of McDonald's in Blairsville) . Tickets may also be downloaded from the Southern Appalachian Bicycling Associations' website, www.saba.org. Contestants must be 21 years of age. The winner will be notified on Friday, April 18. For more information, contact Cindy or Linda at the Union County Chamber, (706) 745-5789 or Phyllis or Dale at the Towns County Chamber of Commerce, (706) 896-4966.
