Kleinpeter named director of children's summer program at Peacock Playhouse

If you are parenting a budding actor or actress ages 8 to 18, you will not want to miss the Licklog Players' summer program, Peacock Pride. The Players are happy to announce that Karin Kleinpeter will be returning after an absence of several years to once again direct this program. Under Ms. Kleinpeter's direction, this program grew each year so that a waiting list had to be established. Children attend from 9 to 12, Monday through Friday, June 9-13 and June 23-27. They can attend one week or two since each week will be entirely different. Each week will end with a production, complete with costumes, scenery, makeup and music. The first week will revolve around Peter Pan while the second week delves into Shakespeare's "The Tempest." Respected actress and director, Edie Kleinpeter will teach drama.

Each week, Ms. Kleinpeter will bring in teachers to work on dance and music. For the second week, instructors from the Folk School will teach country dancing to complement the time of Shakespeare.

Ms. Kleinpeter brings special talents to this position. She has a Master's degree in Art and taught art in Florida schools. She studied art in Italy and has sold many of her own works. She cannot have grown up with her award winning actress-mother without being absorbed by the theater. She creates sets for her mother's productions and has worked on all aspects of a production. Families and friends who come to the production on Friday will see some of her creativity in the costumes, sets and special effects.

Many children have attended Peacock Pride for years and have kept up a love for the arts that will last a lifetime.
