Charles Herbert (Herb) Grounds
Mr. Charles Herbert (Herb) Grounds, 75, of Blairsville, Ga., formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died Feb. 21, 2008 in Lake Worth, Fla.
Mr. Grounds was born Jan. 6, 1933 in Esther, Mo., the son of the late Charles and Pauline Lewis Grounds. After serving in the US Military, stationed in Fairbanks, Ark., Herb and his wife moved to Ft. Lauderdale in the late 1950s. Herb joined the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department in 1959, retiring in 1983.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, June; children, Terri Tucker, Lori Korn (Carl), and John Grounds (Anna); grandchildren, Matthew Peets, Jana, Alyssa and Jennifer Grounds and Kristina Korn; great grandchildren, Evan, Mason and Ella Peets. A memorial service was held Sat. March 8, 2008 at 3 p.m. from the Crossroads Baptist Church in Palm Beach, Fla.
Amemorial service will be held locally Monday,
April 7, 2008 at 4 p.m. from the Antioch
Baptist Church with the Rev. George Cline officiating.
