Schroter of Anti Drug Coalition speaks to Kiwanis Club

Kelly Schroter, Executive Director of the Union County Anti Drug Coalition.
Kelly Schroter, Executive Director of the Union County Anti Drug Coalition, spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Blairsville on Monday, March 10. The mission of the UDADC is to support an overall safe community by providing information, education, and support services to children, families, and the community towards prevention of illegal substance abuse. The goal is to form a comprehensive community coalition made up of all the many valuable resources in union County, such as our civic organizations, service providers, religious organizations, Law enforcement, youth, etc.. This collaborative effort will be able to respond to our community conditions by developing and implementing multifaceted plans that lead to measurable reductions in our substance abuse problems.

The major substances being abused are prescription drugs, marijuana, and methamphetamines. The UCADC is accomplishing their mission and goals through town meetings, presentations, pamphlets. Drug testing has been imitated in the school system, and increased drug education classes are being supported. The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville appreciates the time that Kelly Schroter spent with us and supports the mission and goals of the UCADC.

The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville is dedicated to serving and supporting young people in the immediate area around Blairsville through numerous projects. The Kiwanis Club meets at the Cobbs Mill restaurant in Blairsville at 12:00 Noon on each Monday. Come join in the fun with us.
