Carolyn Collins Kelly

Mrs. Carolyn Kelly, 57, of Monroe, Ga., lost her long and brave battle with cancer on Saturday, March 8, 2008 as she was surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert H. Kelly of Monroe; daughter and son-in-law, Courtney and Cory O'Brien of Monroe; son, Robert Collin Kelly of Monroe, Ga.; grandchildren, Brody Patrick O'Brien and Ella Carolyn O'Brien of Monroe, Ga.; Parents: Roma Sue and William Clyde Collins of Blairsville, Ga; Brothers and sisters: William Collins and wife Martha of Blairsville, Ga., Deborah Gailey and husband Ronald of Cleveland, Ga. and Carlton Collins and wife Kellie of Blairsville, Ga; father and motherin law; Robert and Betty Kelly of Conyers, Ga; sister-in-law Ruthie McGaughey and husband and David of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kelly was born on June 21, 1950 in Blairsville, Ga. She worked as a teacher in Gwinnett County for 35 years. Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a member of the Pointe at Providence Club in Monroe, Ga. She will be forever missed and loved by everyone who knew her.

The family received visitors at Tom Wages Funeral Home in Snellville, Ga., from 5 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11. A celebration of Mrs. Kelly's life was held at the First United Methodist Church of Snellville, Ga. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Dr. George Thomas officiating. Burial wa sat Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. in Blairsville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be sent to the American Caner Society on Mrs. Kelly's behalf
