The Ye Ole Goat Farm is owned and operated by Joanne, the Goat Lady as she is affectionately known, and Michael O'Brien of Martins Creek. They are located at 702 Hughes Road in Murphy, NC. 828-837-0345. The Ye Ole Goat Farm has managed to hold on through the drought and hay shortages. Because we knew our new neighbors moving in and those who are already here that are doing small homesteads they will need new goat stock to get started. We also know there are a lot of farmers that had to sell off their stock. We managed to hold onto our 2007 doe stock, we have full blood and good percentage does and lots of color. We just had our spring birth of 19 kids for 2008. Our farm is still open to visitors, we love to have other people love our kids. They are very people friendly, they are handled from birth. This make them well adjusted. The 2008 girls are collared trained- this makes it easier for the new owner to lead them for 4-H or to the milk stand or even to the local vet. We also offer counseling to new goat owners so they may be successful with their new animals.

Our farm is a closed farm, which means everything we sell is born here accept the buck, we buy in to breed with. Usually when our breeding program is done we offer the buck for sale. We also have a small group of people who we refer to if you don't find anything you like with us. These are people who care about their animals as much as we do.
