Seven students from Senate District 51 paged at the Georgia State Capitol for Senator Chip Pearson. The Page program provides an opportunity for students to gain first hand experience with their state government. The Senate Page duties consist of delivering correspondence and legislative material within the Senate Chamber. During the day, the pages observe the Senators in action. It offers a unique experience to see how the Senate operates and how it differs from the House side of the General Assembly. Senator Chip Pearson joined the students for lunch and took time to talk about how laws are made and answer questions from the students. "It was really nice to be able to ask Senator Pearson questions that were prompted from working on the Senate floor and get a better understanding of how bills become law," explained Morgan Bentley from Blairsville, GA. Morgan was joined by her brother, T Bentley, to serve as pages. Morgan and T are the daughter and son of Tsali and Jacque Bentley of Blairsville.
