Eleanor Livingston Hummel

Mrs. Eleanor Livingston Hummel died at her home in Blairsville on Feb. 25, 2008 at the age of 88.

She was born in 1919 in Amagansett, N.Y., to William Livingston and Eloise (Bennett) Livingston. She lived and went to school in South Hampton, N.Y. After graduation she moved to Hollywood, Fla., where she became Administrative Assistant to Ella Jo Stolhberg Attorney at Law for 33 years. During this time she was the president of PTA at Hollywood Hills High School. She retired in 1976 and retired to Blairsville, Ga., 15 years ago.

Mrs. Hummel is survived by her husband of 43 years, Carl Hummel; daughter, Gail (McGrath) Dion of Ashland, Mass.; sister, Joan Zaluski of Water Mill, N.Y.; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by four Zaluski nephews living in Water Mill.

A private memorial service will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice, P.O. Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546 in memory of Mrs. Hummel.
