Kiwanis Club hosts Brown

Glenda Brown of the Union County Health Department speaks to the Kiwanis Club.
Glenda Brown of the Union County Health Dept. spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Blairsville on Monday Feb. 25th. She covered the many services which are offered. Of particular interest to the Kiwanis Club are the child related services. Well child physicals are available for $60.00, and are by appointment. Providing proof of family income may reduce the fee. They do provide billing for Medicaid and Peachcare participants. There is also a WIC (women and infant care program), which is free to eligible participants. Proof of identification, residency, and income must be provided. Appointments are required. A third program is dental services, which are provided exclu- sively to Medicaid or Peachcare clients under the age of 21 on Wednesdays and Fridays by appointment only. To learn more about these programs and other services offered by the Union County health Dept. call (706)745-6292. The health dept. Clinic is located at 175 Chase Drive, Blairsville.

The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville is dedicated to serving and supporting young people in the immediate area around Blairsville through numerous projects. The Kiwanis Club meets at the Cobbs Mill restaurant in Blairsville at 12:00 Noon on each Monday. Come join in the fun with us.
