By BECKY LANDRESS Sentinel Writer

While searching a residence in Hiawassee for a fugitive in another drug case on Wednesday, February 27, a small arsenal of weapons were seized. Towns County Sheriff Chris Clinton and a drug task force agent first discovered a sawed-off shot gun, which is classified as a dangerous weapon.

Detective Mike Davis, along with deputies and other agents from the Drug Task Force and US Forest Service came and assisted in the search. The owner of the residence, John Lezinski of Hiawassee was charged with possession of the first weapon, as well as 15 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A second count of possession of a dangerous weapon was added on after a homemade suppressor was discovered in the residence.

In addition to the weapons, Lezinski and two others were charged with violations of the Georgia controlled substance act for possession of Lortab, a Schedule III narcotic, without a prescription.
