Willard Gudger Stroud

Mr. Willard Gudger Stroud, 91, of Stroud Gregory Drive, Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mr. Stroud was born May 13, 1916 in Union County, Ga., the son of the late Mart Stroud and the late Ollie Smith Stroud. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Hazel Stroud; brothers, Wiley, Wade and James Worth Stroud; sister, Ada Sanders; and brother-in-law, Zeb Martin. Mr. Stroud was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Stroud are sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Martin of Blairsville, Mabel and Sam Friedman of Irvine, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, John and Pattie Stroud of Loudon, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends

also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday,

Feb. 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home

chapel officiated by

the Rev. Guy Wayne Shook. Special music was presented by the Renshaw Family. Pallbearers were Paul

Stroud, Jeff Fortenberry, Perry Branyon, Edward Mashburn, Derek Richards and Dustin Lee. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
