Rev. Willard L. Thompson

Rev. Willard L. Thompson, 60, of the Clayton Community, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 23 from the Blessed Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Todd McGhee and Rev. Joe Pruitt officiated. Interment followed in Macedonia Memorial Park.

Rev. Thompson was an Army Veteran, an Ordained Minister and a truck driver for Bobo Wood Products. He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he was the choir director and a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Thompson of the Clayton Community; son, Daniel Thompson of Covington, Ga.; daughter, Amy Reece of Waleska, Ga.; brothers, Ernest Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, George Thompson and Fred Thompson all of Blairsville, Ga.; sisters, Frances Taylor of New Castle, Pa., Barbara Jean Sosebee, Lena McCollum and Becky Picklesimer all of Blairsville; seven grandchildren also survive.

Sosebee Funeral Home, Canton Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
