Eunice Ketchum Shima

Mrs. Eunice Ketchum Shima, 88, of Reece Creek Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Shima was born March 10, 1919 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Benjamin Ketchum and the late Helena Yazell Ketchum. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shima in 1951 and also by a son, Joseph John Shima. She had written poetry, symphonies and also had played in symphonies. She was very active in her church. Mrs. Shima was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Surviving Mrs. Shima are daughter and son-in-law, Pauline

Polly) and Richard Sobzack of Blairsville; brothers, Paul Ketchum of Hamilton, Ohio, and Ben Ketchum of Cleveland,

Ohio; many other relatives

and friends also

survive.

A memorial service was held Sunday,

Feb. 24, 2008 at 3

p.m. from the

Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church with Wayne Visage officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church in memory of Mrs. Shima.
