Blairsville Boy Scout Troop 101 holds Court of Honor

(L to R) Andrew Stevens, Tucker Knight, Kyle Wade, Joel Legg, Jacob Chambliss, and T Bentley.
Blairsville's Boy Scout Troop 101 held their Court of Honor last week to recognize Scouts who have had advancement in rank and additionally those who have earned merit badges. The Scouts have been working very hard in developing leadership skills (how to lead and how to follow). No doubt these skills will prove beneficial to them as they get older.

Four Scouts who advanced in rank were: Tucker Knight achieving the rank of Second Class, Jacob Chambliss achieving the rank of First Class, and Andrew Stevens and Kyle Wade both achieving the rank of Star. Three Scouts were awarded merit badges for their work. Those Scouts were: Jacob Chambliss earning the Gardening merit badge, Joel Legg earning the Genealogy, Rifle, and Animal Science merit badges, and T Bentley earning Citizenship in the Community.

Troop 101 invites young men ages 11 - 17 in Union County to find out more about Scouting by visiting www.scouting.org and then finding out more about our Blairsville unit. Regular Troop Meetings are held most Mondays at 7:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Blairsville's Scout Hut located off Hwy 515. For more information contact Bobby Brumley, Membership Coordinator, at 706-897-5606.
