MLCCC thanks local merchants

MLCCC is a non-profit corporation that does not receive funding from the county, state or federal government. We must operate on the tuition that is paid by the parents or parents who receive help through DFCS, donations and fundraisers. We also participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program that reimburses the Center for a portion of our food costs. Since we do not have funds for staff parties, we used to sell soft drinks and candy to our staff during their breaks and the profit was used to have a staff Christmas party. Due to the fact that our Center was broken into twice in 2005, we had to discontinue that since the only thing that was stolen was our drinks, candy and the money from the sales (we never kept cash in the Center from the day care business).

In order to have a Christmas party in 2007, the staff had to pay for it. Some local merchants were kind enough to donate gifts for this party. We would like to sincerely thank the following merchants for their donations: The Aviator Cafe, Blairsville Diamond Center, The Book Nook, Dave's Produce, Downtown Pizza, Foodland, Ingles, King Kutz, Lovely Nails, The New You, Outlets South, Pat's Hallmark, Sharon's Fashions, Special Times to Remember, Tuckers on the Square and The Village Boutique.
