Ruby Hazel Panter Carney
Mrs. Carney was born April 27, 1927 in Fannin County, Ga. She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Arthur Panter and also her second husband, James Ira Carney; her mother, Alice Carpenter; and sisters, Willa Mae White and Daisy Barnes. Mrs. Carney was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Carney are her children, Jackie and Linda Panter, James Winston and Lisa Panter, Ray Jeffrey and Renee Panter, Carol and Charles Dillingham, JoAnn and Tom Meeks, Janet and Scotty Palmer, Mary and Doug Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Cindy and Rick Steinkamp, Lisa and Bobby Klakis, Greg Dillingham, Steve, Bret, Jenny and Josh Panter, Jenny and Carl Miller, Beth Tinnell and Tate Daniel; seven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roy and Ella Carpenter, Mable Stepp, Mary Wright, Laura and Ed Chaney; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Mathis and Rev. James Howard Galloway officiating. Special music was presented by Danny Davenport. Pallbearers were Bret, Josh and Steve Panter, Bobby Klakis, Greg Dillingham and Rick Steinkamp. Honorary pallbearers were Matt Meeks and Charles Dillingham. Interment followed in the Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of the arrangements.
