On Thursday, January 31, 2008, Travis Warren and Daniel Kumler, two local Cub Scouts, participated in the Arrow of Light Ceremony and the Crossover Ceremony.

The Arrow of Light is the highest honor a Cub Scout can achieve, most closely compared to a Boy Scout achieving Eagle Scout.

The Crossover Ceremony represents the time when a Cub Scout reaches the age that it's appropriate to make the switch from being a Webelo in the Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. The Crossover is symbolized by the boys physically walking across a rope bridge structure.

Cubmaster Robert Atkinson conducted the ceremonies, along with Den Leaders BJ Smock and Cliff Herr. "We are very proud of these two young men for their achievement and dedication to the scouting program. The values and morals instilled as Cub Scouts will serve them well as they continue their journey of discovery with the Boy Scouts and beyond," Atkinson said.

The boys' parents participated in the ceremony, officially presenting them with their Arrow of Light patch. Daniel's mother, Kristy Kumler, serves as the Webelo's Den Leader and Travis' father, Keith Warren, serves as the Pack Committee Chairman.
