Glenys McAllister Kersey

Peggy and Dr. Hal D. Bishop of Memphis, Tenn.; nieces, Teresa E. Patterson of Acworth, Ga., Linda P. Iannuzzi of Germantown,
Mrs. Glenys McAllister Kersey, 68, of Wild Hog Creek Circle, Suches, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at her home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Kersey was born Nov. 9, 1939 in McCombs, Miss., the daughter of the late Percy McAllister and the late Mae Brewer Copeland. Glenys loved animals, flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Kersey in 1997. She was a member and long time leader at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches.

Surviving Mrs. Kersey are step children, Charles and Sherry Kersey of Marietta, Ga., David and Sherry Kersey of Norcross, Ga., Robert and Sherry Kersey of Royse City, Texas, Cathy and Ronnie Scates of Rowlett, Texas, Becky and John Miller of Ada, Okla.; sister and brother-in-law, Md.; nephew, Mercer H.

Patterson of Marion, Ill.;

step brother, Murray

Patrick Copeland of Columbus,Ohio; sixteen

grandchildren, one great

grandchild; many other

relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services were

held Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Clarence Drummond officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish,the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Kersey's memory.
