Union General Hospital Auxiliary

At their January meeting, sixtysix of the Union General Hospital Auxiliary members received certificates of appreciation and pins (some bronze, silver and gold) for their number of hours of volunteer service. "Legacy Link/Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) sent these to be distributed to our dedicated members," said Claudia Parks, Auxiliary President, who gave special recognition to three members who received the highest of honors. They were L-R, Sophie Doeler, Lee Oma Evans, and Susan Cheek.

These ladies are true representatives of the heart and soul of he UGH Auxiliary with their willingness to serve on a regular schedule and often filling in as needed and always with

friendly smile," said Parks.

Doeler, Evans and Cheek received a personalized certificate of achievement, a note of congratulations from the President of the United States and a letter from the President's Council on service and civic participation. Each has volunteered more than 4,000 hours in the past ten years.

All three ladies agreed that they receive much satisfaction and joy in helping and being of service to others especially at the hospital and the nursing home. We encourage others to join the UGH Auxiliary and feel this satisfaction in their own personal life.
