UCB 'Our School Bank' students hold Spelling Bee

The winning 'Our School Bank' Spelling Bee winners, and their spoils of victory.

United Community Bank's 'Our School Bank Committee' met on January 8th for its monthly meeting which included a Spelling Bee. With four groups of six students, it was an hour of fun & excitement!

The spelling words started off simple and became more difficult as the rounds went on, ranging from "foreign" to "occurrence". As the words were read, the team had 30 seconds to talk it over before the group spokesperson revealed the spelling.

With a heated competition, only one group of students, pictured here, emerged victorious and were awarded boxes of candy. Everyone who participated walked away with a small token of appreciation.

The United Community Bank 'Our School Bank' committee is composed of 5th graders from Union County Elementary School. They meet each month throughout the school year to participate in a variety of bankingrelated projects.
