Ruth Holloway

Mrs. Ruth Holloway, 84, of Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Blairsville, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 in Gainesville following an extended illness.

Mrs. Holloway was born Oct. 7, 1923 in Union County, Ga., the daughter of the late Harvey D. Stephens and the late Lilia Pierce Stephens. She was such a loving and caring person who dearly loved her family and enjoyed just being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Clyde Holloway in 1992. Ruth was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Holloway are sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Marsha Holloway of Winder, Ga., Jerry and Rita Holloway of Lawrenceville; daughter and sonin law, Yvonne and Mike Chesler of Buford, Ga.; brothers and sisters in-law, Jeep and Lela Stephens of Blairsville, Mark and Maxine Stephens Stephens of Aiken, S.C.;

sister, Cora Dixon of Marietta; grandchildren, Amanda

Rebecca and Micah Coffield; many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Special music was presented by Tommy Green. Pallbearers were Mike Stephens, Ronnie McKenzie, Jime Coffield and Craig Stephens. Interment followed in the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
