Erik Boemanns sworn in in hometown
Erik Boemanns was sworn in as an attorney at the Union County Courthouse on November 30, 2007 by the Honorable Hugh Stone, former chief superior court judge for Georgia Enotah Judicial Circuit. Judge Stone spent 14 years on the bench before retiring last year, retaining his senior judge status.
Judge Stone shared a law practice with Erik's grandfather, William E. Woodside, before setting up his own practice. This paved the way for Ginny Boemanns and John Boemanns to join Woody Woodside in family law practice in Blairsville in 1977. Woody Woodside passed away in 1991. John Boemanns and Ginny Boemanns are still practicing attorneys in Blairsville.
Erik Boemanns is the son of John Boemanns and Ginny Boemanns, both of Blairsville. He graduated from Union County High School in 1994 and then completed two years at Young Harris College before transferring to and graduating from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Ga., in 1998. He completed his law studies at Georgia State University and passed the bar exam in 2007. Erik is now the third successive generation of lawyers in the Boemanns' family.
Erik and his wife, Nicole, have two children and currently reside in Sandy Springs, Ga.
