Union defeats Towns for 20th straight time

The Union County Panthers picked up their 10th win of the season and their 20th consecutive win over rival Towns County 71-49. The last time Towns County's boys defeated Union County in basketball was in January 2000. Before that the Panthers went from 1996-1999 without losing to the Indians. Austin Collins led Union with 20 points, Cody Adams had 17, Ross scored 11, and Gowder added 9.

The Union County Panthers led 16-8 after one quarter and held a 33-22 lead at the half. The Panthers opened the third with a 7-0 run to take their largest lead of the game, 40-22. The Panthers stretched their lead to 22 at 57-35 after three quarters of play. The two teams each scored 14 points during the final quarter.
