Lady Panthers upset undefeated third ranked Towns County Indians

This season's seniors picked up a 66-62 win over rival Towns County in the final meeting between the two teams, this season. Williams scored a game high 26 points with Bittenbinder scoring 17 and Gowder adding sixteen. Union took an early 10-lead but Towns finished the quarter on a 10-4 run to get within two at 14-12 after one quarter of play. During the second, Union led by as much as seven but Towns battled back to take a 34-31 lead at the half.

Towns stretched it's lead to six points during the third quarter but Union managed to get within three at quarters end 49- 46. Union got within two at 53- 51 with 6:15 left to play and knotted the score at 55-55 with just over four minutes remaining. Towns looked like they were going to pull away when they took a 62-58 lead with 2:30 remaining. However, Union outscored the Lady Indians 8-0 over the final 2:20 of the game with Gowder scoring the last bucket in the final seconds to put Towns County away.
