Max Patton Kelley

Mrs. Max Patton Kelley, 67, of Murphy Hwy., Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at her home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Kelley was born Nov. 22, 1940 in Union County, Ga., the daughter of the late Lester Patton and the late Lola Seabolt Patton. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. She had taught School in Gwinnett County Schools for two years and had taught in the Union County School System for over 28 years. Max was a wonderful mom and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace (Bud) Kelley in Sept. of this year. Mrs. Kelley attended the House of Prayer Church.

Surviving Mrs. Kelley are daughter and son in law, Casey and Keith Potts of Blairsville; sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Karen Kelley of Blairsville, Mark Kelley of

Blairsville; brothers and sisters-inlaw, Rex and Melva Lyn Patton of Blairsville, Denny and Connie Patton of Blairsville, Phil and Ann Patton of Blairsville; grandchildren, Seth and Becka Merritt, Connor and Chloe Potts; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at 4 p.m. from the House of Prayer Church with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music was presented by Freddie Burrell. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Max Kelley Scholarship Fund in Mrs. Kelley's memory.
