Daphne T. Barber

Mrs. Daphne T. Barber, 85, of Turkey Trot Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Barber was born Dec. 9, 1922 in Peterborough, England, the daughter of the late Walter Turner and the late Grace Froud Turner. Mrs. Barber was of the Methodist Faith.

Surviving Mrs. Barber is her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph G. Barber of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Glenda Barber of Lucedale, Miss.; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Sid Turner of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Frank Schatzle of Long Beach, Miss.;

four grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, one greatgreat grandchild, four nephews and a niece; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at 4 p.m. from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susan Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Barber's memory.
