Lady Panthers open game with a 37-4 run to put Tallulah Falls away in second quarter

Candace Williams returned to the Lady Panther lineup and made it known to everyone - especially Tallulah Falls. Williams scored 14 of her game high 22 points in the first quarter, to pace Union to a 24-4 first quarter lead, on their way to a 45-14 win. The Lady Panthers won by 31 points despite not hitting a three-pointer during the entire game. The Lady Panthers average just under four treys per game.

M.C. Edmondson scored six of her career high 8 points in the first quarter. "Edmondson has improved immensely over the last year, said Coach West. "Her stats this year are already better than her season totals from last year, so I think she has a good shot at the most improved player." Sarah Fulghum and Leslie Bittenbinder also added two points to round out the first quarter scoring.

The Lady Panthers left little doubt as to the outcome as they outscored Tallulah Falls 13-0 during quarter number two. Kayla Gowder led Union with five, while Williams added four, Kaley Sullivan, and Fulghum each scored two, to round out the second quarter scoring for the Lady Panthers.

Union County played the second half on cruise-control as they scored six points in the third quarter and three in the fourth. Williams scored four points and Edmondson three points during the third. Sophomore, Whitney Brown scored two in the fourth and freshman, Tori Dyer added a freethrow to round out the fourth quarter scoring for the Lady Panthers.
