ACB contributes to local scholarships

Cathy Cox, president of Young Harris College, recently accepted a $500 donation to the Young Harris College Local Scholarship Fund from Appalachian Community Bank in Blairsville, Georgia. Mr. Jason Karnes, president of Appalachian Community Bank, was on hand to make the presentation.

Through this gift to the Local Scholarship Campaign, Appalachian Community Bank helps Young Harris College provide much needed scholarship aid to area students wishing to attend Young Harris College.

In keeping with its mission of serving the people of Towns, Union and Fannin Counties of North Georgia and Clay and Cherokee Counties in North Carolina, Young Harris College awards nearly $1,000,000 of its own resources each year to local students in the form of scholarships. The Local Scholarship Campaign helps to meet this need and is sponsored by the Young Harris College Board of Associates, a group of area volunteers and community leaders.
