Sherry Burnette Southerland

Mrs. Sherry Burnette Southerland, 55, of Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at her home.

Mrs. Southerland was born Wednesday, May 14, 1952 in Towns County, Ga. Sherry attended New Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mia Plott.

Survivors include her parents, Anceberry and Donnie Harkins Burnette of Blairsville; daughters, Lisa Burnette, Sonya Burnette and Christy Couret, all of Blairsville; sons, Franklin Plott of Young Harris, Ga., and Chad Plott; brothers, Johnny, Gary and Ronnie Burnette, all of Blairsville; sisters, Kathryn Lloyd and Tami Lee, both of Blairsville; 21 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Danny White officiating. Special music was presented by The Travelling Pilgrims. Pallbearers were Gary Burnette, Ronnie Burnette, Johnny Burnette, Jamie Burnette, Bobby Thompson, and Danny Jones. Honorary escorts were Jacob Willis, and Cody Franklin. Interment followed in the Owltown Church of God Cemetery.
