Alicia Gayle Jones

Mrs. Alicia Gayle Jones, 53, of Nottley Dam Rd., Blairsville, Ga., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Jones was born June 1, 1954 in Cobb County, Ga., the daughter of John Brown and Claudette Pettitt Brown. She had been a Respiratory Therapist for several years and had worked in several local hospitals. Alicia was a loving and caring person and had touched many people over the years. She was a loving daughter, mother and especially grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. Alicia was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Jones are daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Darren Groves of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Brannon and Leslie Jones of Blairsville; mother, Claudette Sparks of Blairsville; brother and sister-inlaw, Tony and Faye Brown of

Blairsville; uncles and aunts, David and Sandra Pettitt of Marietta, Carolyn and Richard Shaw of Monroe, Ga.; special friend, Katie Abercrombie of Blairsville; grandchildren, Dustin (Bubba) and Luther (Tylan) Jones, Dawson and Drake Groves; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Special music was presented by Scott Lance and Marty Groves. Pallbearers were Junior Arrant, Chad Sisum, Jeff Nicholson, Keith Jones, Jay Stubberfield and Eddie Davis. Interment was held in the Pine Top Baptist Church Cemetery.
