GBI investigation at Towns County Jail results in administrator resignation

Stanley Richardson, 64, resigned on Wednesday, November 28th as jail administrator for the Towns County Jail during an on-going investigation by the GBI.

According to Robert Kern, Investigator for the Towns County Sheriff's office, "Richardson has resigned and nothing more can be said at this time."

John Cagle, with the Cleveland branch of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated much of the same. "We are currently conducting an investigation at the Towns jail of an individual. What we recover during that investigation will be handled by the District Attorney."

Nothing further can be disclosed by the GBI at this time. An update will come as more information is released.
