Clinton wins Towns Sheriff run-off

The run-off for the Towns County Sheriff's race was held Tuesday, Dec. 6 with Chris Clinton winning by 264 votes over contender Rudy Roach.

The hotly-contested race brought out a total of .3,860 voters which was just under the 3,872 that voted in the Nov. 4 election. There are 7,014 registered voters according to the Election Board.

Chris Clinton will take over as Towns County Sheriff on January 1, 2008.
