Christmas Tree Lighting at Vogel
The 4th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting program at Vogel State Park will start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 8. The hayrides will begin at 4:45 p.m. and will carry park guests and visitors to the ball field from the Visitor's Center. There will be no vehicle parking at the ball field for safety reasons. Please use hayrides to get to the ball field for the program. The ball field will be the staging area, with 4 bonfires to stay warm, where you will meet up with others to sing and celebrate the Christmas season. Caroling and the lighting of the tree (a beautiful 26-feet tall Blue Spruce tree) will be at 6:00 p.m. adjacent to the ball field. Don't miss this highlight of the evening.
Santa Claus will also be there in a warm tent at the ball field listening to the children's wishes. There will be hot cider and hot chocolate for everyone at no cost. If there is inclement weather,
the program will be under a roof.
Please come out to enjoy this seasonal event at Vogel State Park. Bring a blanket or chair for seating and to stay warm. Last, but not least, please bring an unwrapped gift for a child (newborn to 12 years of age) - please note: no toy guns, knives or dangerous items. All these gifts will be given out to local children through Union County Sheriff's Dept. as part of
the Give-A-Gift toy drive.
