MACA football ends season 4-3

Front row: Wyndle Bates, Thomas Shamblin, Patch DeFoor, Daniel Bryan, Luke Ballard. 2nd row: Jamie Dockery, Byron McCombs, Abe Kiernan, Nick Sciales, Cameron Murphy, Joe DiBenedetto, Philip Kight and Mike Kiernan.
The MACA Football team played its final game against Hope Christian Academy. The game was played at Fannin County Park and concluded its season with an exciting game. With starting quarterback Phillip Kight sidelined with a severe ankle sprain from the previous win over the North Georgia Falcons, MACA went to young back up, QB Luke Ballard. The Lions had a great balance of runs and pass plays, keeping Hope's defense off balance.

Stand out senior tailback, Joe DiBenedetto carried the load, scoring 3 touchdowns and concluding his MACA football career with an extraordinary 80 yard touchdown run. Fullback Abe Kiernan also brought the pigskin in for 2 touchdowns.

The Maca defense was sound allowing only 14 points in the second half. We are looking forward to next season, as the majority of the team is young and should do nothing but improve. MACA would like to thank all the families and support that we have had this season and to our coaches, Byron McCombs, Jamie Dockery and Mike Kiernan.

Final Score was 44 - 14
