John R. "Jack" Rogers

John R. "Jack" Rogers, 83, of Blairsville, Ga., passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Rogers was born Saturday, May 12, 1923 in Union County, Ga., to the late Roy and Ellen Mae Stephens Rogers. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Butt Rogers and a son, Ronnie Rogers.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Rogers of Cartersville, Ga.; sister, Mary Roberts of Wachula, Fla.; grandsons, Brandon Rogers and Bradley Rogers; great-granddaughters, Kaylee Rogers and Ashlyan Grace Rogers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. B.A. Buchanan, and Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Music was provided by The Faith Singers. Interment followed in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville. Pallbearers were Jeff Butt, James B. Butt, Robert Butt, Riley Stephens, Brandon Rogers and Bradley Rogers.
